ABOUT US
NUR (Northwest for Underrepresented Regions) was founded by passionate individuals from the Northwest who have meaningful international experience and contributed to the implementation of sustainable development projects in various underrepresented communities.
The board members come from different backgrounds to create interconnected networks that support humanitarian efforts and equal distribution of resources. NUR defines these resources as materials that promote learning, advocate for equal access to education and foster long-term, sustainable development.
Why The Pomegranate As Our Logo?
NUR means pomegranate in Armenian and NUR was inspired by the symbolism of the pomegranate in Armenian culture. Many Armenian artists and writers interpret the pomegranate in various ways. Among many interpretations of the fruit is abundance, fertility and longevity, in addition to generosity. Due to its unique structure, the pomegranate also symbolizes the universe and unity. Through its programs throughout the world, NUR embraces the meaning of generosity and unity, and aims to promote those values across the globe with integrity and respect for all.
